Voice Within will endeavour “to protect the confidentiality of information and the privacy of individuals by regulating the way personal information is collected, used, disclosed and managed. Personal information is, generally speaking, information or an opinion relating to an identified, or reasonably identifiable, individual.” (Standards Australia, 2018). This is in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) outlined in the Privacy Act 1988.

 

The nature of collecting personal information includes, contact name, address, email address/s details and some feedback for marketing, and market research purposes. There will also be opportunities to share one’s story via an online platform. The information is entered by individuals with the aim to then create a database, to distribute a newsletter, and publish people’s stories, managed by Voice Within.

 

In the case you wish to remain anonymous when dealing with us, we may not be able to distribute information of services/products purchased without basic information such as name and email address.

 

Voice Within will disclose an individual’s personal information for the primary purpose of distribution of purchased products/services. The purposes include:

l Provide an individual with products/services purchased;

l Respond to queries and feedback;

l Inform of existing or new workshops/events available to individuals;

l Inform of changes/cancellations to workshops/events engaged by the individual

l Contact surveys/feedback forms/market research agreed by the individual;

l Facilitate participation in forums, workshops and events;

l Publish stories that are successful in rounds of competitions/events;

l Consider applications of interest to join the Voice Within working teams who administer the operations and logistics of workshops/events.

 

Voice Within will not disclose personal information to other parties, as this current policy stands. If any changes occur where third-parties request personal information with changes in operations within Voice Within, individuals will be informed and given option to remove personal information from the database. We do not sell or license your personal information to third parties.

 

Voice Within may however, disclose an individual’s personal information if it is required or authorised by law, where disclosure is necessary to prevent a threat to life, health or safety, or where we are otherwise permitted by the Privacy Act.

 

Under the APP act, you are authorised to obtain a copy of the information Voice Within have of you. Please verify your identity in writing via our contact email.

 

Information held will be correct, complete and up-to-date. If any changes to your information occurs, please contact us via email in writing.

The Voice Within Privacy Policy will be reviewed and updated in accordance to the APP act changes, and also if internal practices and use of personal information changes. Individuals will be notified of any changes to Voice Within Privacy Policy.
